Dicarbonyl chlorides and dicarboxylic acids are functional groups that react with bis(2-aminophenol) during the synthesis of polybenzoxazole (PBO) polymers. These compounds supply the carbonyl groups necessary for forming the benzoxazole rings within the PBO structure.
