Steroids (Others) (67)

Steroids refer to a broad category of cyclopentyl perhydrophenanthrene derivatives that are extensively found in the biological world, also called steroidal compounds or simply steroids. These compounds lack bound fatty acids and are classified as non-saponifiable lipids. As isoprenoid substances, steroids are formed through the cyclization of triterpenes, followed by internal molecular rearrangements and chemical modifications.
