For instance, lysosomal cathepsins are capable of hydrolyzing peptide bonds, including dipeptide or tetrapeptide linkers. Additionally, glycosidases can hydrolyze β-glucuronide and β-galactosidase, phosphatases can break down pyrophosphate, and sulfatases can hydrolyze sulfates.
