Photo-reactive Crosslinkers (12)

Photoreactive crosslinkers are compounds capable of initiating chemical crosslinking reactions upon exposure to light. Examples include aryl azides (AZs), benzophenones (BPs), diaziridines (DAs), and 2-aryl-5-carboxytetrazoles (ACTs). When irradiated with ultraviolet light at specific wavelengths, these compounds generate intermediates such as nitrene, diradical, carbene, and carboxynitrile imine. Notably, carbene-mediated photoaffinity labeling is extensively applied in drug target identification.
